A project created from found materials.

Waste Not was a project that appeared out of finding a pile of plastic wrapping on the corner of a street in Oslo.

It is created from a fleeting thought about the Norwegian word for queer; Skeiv which sounds a lot like the Danish word skæv, and that kind of makes sense when thinking Queer, but also not.

Skæv means crooked or bent, it’s the opposite of straight.
I found the material for this outfit in a kind of “skæv” way. Not the straight line to materials for an outfit.

So I began creating the shapes in a “skæv” way.
Specifically for the drag performer Eliza Fierce.

This is the outcome.

This was how it looked when I found it:

This project has been possible because of support from Ib Henriksens Fond
